I’m Kamna Shastri, a writer, storyteller, narrative strategist and observer of social change with over a decade of experience working with a range of mission driven organizations including KUOW FM, NPR, Real Change, South Seattle Emerald, International Examiner, Washington Environmental Council, and The Wing Luke Museum.
My specialty lies in identifying mission-aligned narrative strategies that bring an organization’s impact and journey to life. I create space and processes to communicate complex issues with a focus on solutions and equity rooted in community. If you are trying to solve a problem, and are struggling with framing, or understanding all the parts involved - I can help you find patterns, connections and stories that can bring the pieces together.
I offer support in a variety of formats including long-form feature writing, developmental editorial support, communications strategy planning, podcast production, and community engagement. I am also available as a consultant and thought partner through strategy and roadmap planning.
I am particularly interested in using narrative tools to amplify the stories of organizations and communities working at the nexus of social change, cultural heritage preservation, and community building.
If you care about bringing people together, are hungry for solutions, and want to tell stories that spark connection and curiosity, I’d love to collaborate with you!
